Kenny is full of praise for the local primary schools and the local high school, Craigroyston.
‘The high school is now getting results that rival many Edinburgh schools in much more affluent areas. The primaries are great and we work clos ely with them all.’
But there are always some kids for whom no school is suitable. Who don’t fit. Spartans is experimenting with an alternative school where kids can come, get involved with the work of the club but continue their education. A retired headteacher will provide the lessons. The rest of the club will provide the enthusiasm.
